Let's Make a Deal!

One of the longest running TV games shows is “Let’s Make a Deal!” Audience contestants dress in outlandish costumes in hopes of being chosen to play.  They are presented with options that can lead to wonderful prizes or end up with a Zonk. In our sermon series we are going to playfully use the theme “Let’s Make a Deal” to survey the themes and stories of the Hebrew Scripture – Genesis to Malachi. God sets the conditions of a “Deal”, in the form of the Covenant, which the people are to live up to.  However, they are always seeking ways around it, failing to live up to it, or seeking to change the conditions of the deal.

The Sylvania First Men's Group is hosting a Swiss Steak Dinner on Saturday, January 28th from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The dinner includes Swiss Steak, potatoes (regular or au gratin), green beans, cole slaw, roll, deserts, coffee and water (soft drinks are available for $1.00). We'll also be featuring homemade pies from our Men's Group members. Mmmmm.  Pies!  

Advance tickets are $8.50 for adults (buy your tickets at church on Sunday or stop by our office during the week) and $9.00 at the door.  The men will also be serving Mac and Cheese dinners for the kids - the cost is $4.00.
